Hey there, I’m Jared Johnston. I’m an actor working and living in NYC and LA.

I moved to NYC in October of 2005 to pursue my dreams on the stage. Within weeks of arrival, I found myself playing Prospero in an off-broadway adaptation of The Tempest put up by the Millenium Talent Group. A week later, I was also playing Oberon in their adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream that was running in rep.

After an injury to my voice. I switched to the fabulous world of TV/Film. To be honest I floundered for a few years, landing a role here and there. I was young and naive to the business. Having no real training outside of college speech and debate, I relied mainly on raw talent. My representation was getting me in the room, but I wasn't booking. Then, my fabulous agent decided to change paths and mold careers as a manager. I booked a few roles with her replacement, but I wasn't happy. BOOM! UGA Talent came into my life.  They had this culture of betterment and support like I've never felt before. Everyone in the agency cheers each other on. It's amazing.

I have spent the last four years taking classes and booking role after role. It feels like a perfect storm of agent hustle, growing into my hairline, and classes from The Folster Studio. I also doesn't hurt to have Bohemia Group managing my career either.

I've worked on almost every major network, feature films, indie projects, webseries, etc, and it's not getting old. I want to be doing this for the rest of my life.

Check out the news section for what's happening currently in my acting career.

Good things come to those who hustle.

I'll leave you with these words from my acting teacher, Sean Folster,  that changed my game dramatically:

Prepare and Improvise,

Prepare and Improvise,

Prepare and Improvise...and stop moving your eyebrows so much.

Cheers,

JJJ
